Having trouble getting rid of that old refrigerator, air conditioner, water heater or stove? Montgomery County North and South Solid Waste Facilities will accept your old appliances FREE OF CHARGE on
June 12, 13 and 14. This free appliance disposal and recovery program is sponsored by Montgomery County Solid Waste District for the residents of Montgomery County.
Montgomery County encourages residents to properly dispose of their household appliances in an environmentally sound manner. This program will prevent old appliances from being illegally dumped. Once delivered to the North or South Solid Waste Facility, the County's licensed technicians will remove any refrigerant, such as Freon™, free of charge, and will see that the metal components are recycled rather than placed in a landfill. The district cannot accept microwaves, small counter top appliances or outdoor grills for this collection. However, they are accepted as general trash for a fee.
Appliances will be accepted at the following locations:
North Solid Waste Facility
6589 Old Webster Street, Vandalia, OH
South Solid Waste Facility
1001 Encrete Lane, Moraine, OH
Mon.-Fri. 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Sat. 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The district does accept appliances throughout the year for a nominal fee. For additional information, call the RECYCLE HOTLINE at 225-4999 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. |
