Buy Recycled Grant Program
Purpose
The Montgomery County Solid Waste District (MCSWD) established the Buy Recycled Grant Program for the purchase and promotion of recycled content material and to increase participation in MCSWD community and education programs.

Eligibility The buy-recycled grant funds are available on a competitive basis to all Montgomery County schools and select nonprofits (exclusions may apply). Funding can be used to purchase and promote any type of recycled content material including but not limited to, paper, plastic, steel, aluminum, tires and glass.

Cities, townships and solid waste district members may apply for similar funding through the Incentive Grant Program in February 2009.  Applicants that do not receive funding for the Buy Recycled Grant are encouraged to apply for the 2009 Incentive Grant.  Applying for the Incentive Grant requires endorsement from the applicant’s jurisdiction and participation in a mandatory pre-submission meeting to be held in February 2009.

Funding The total funding dollars that may be available are $35,000. Funding for this project is contingent upon approval of the 2009 budget. The 2009 budgeting occurs in late fall of 2008.

Actual awards will vary based upon proposed projects and the total number of applications submitted.  Partial funding of proposals may be offered. Upon award announcement, funding dollars will be available beginning January of 2009.

Application Proposals must be submitted by October 30th, 2008, which is the end of Recycle, Ohio! Month. Any incomplete applications will not be considered.
